Hot Water:- Pressure Temperature Relief Valve (PTR Valve) Management: This is the homeowner’s Responsibility - Relieved for 20 seconds every 6 months. This prevents the valve from rusting and ceasing up. A good way to remember is Daylight Savings, change the clock, change the smoke alarm battery, and relieve the valve on your hot water system.

PTR Valves are on all gas storage, electric storage, and some heat pumps.

Pressure & Temperature Relief Valves should be replaced every 5 years. This prevents overpressure and temperature in your cylinder, leading to a burst cylinder. You also need to flush the cylinder of rust and dirt.
